Will of Joseph Rice - Filed in Probate Court on June 28, 1873


I, Joseph Rice of Los Angeles County State of California, being of sound mind and in full possession of my faculties, do hereby on this twenty fourth day of June AD Eighteeen Hundred & Seventy Two, make and declare the following to be my final will and testament.

I hereby appoint Samuel B. Caswell and George H. Pike to be my executors, to have & to hold in trust, after paying my just and lawful debts, all the following described property for the benefit of my children.

Mary Catherine Rice, Maria Griselda Rice, Francisco Isadora Rice, George B. Rice, and Joseph Rice, to be be equally divided among them, on condition that while their mother lives, they shall out of these means take the charge and support of her, while the property remains, if she remains with them. And in case any property shall be left to me or my estate by my parents, that the same shall be equally divided among them, my children.

The following named property I hereby specify as my effects at this time. All my stock with my brand & implements on real estate now under lease as any that I may have at the time of my death, bank accounts & sundry personal property.
