Newhall Oil Field Claims in 1903

This was in "Rueger's Atlas, Showing Country Property of Los Angeles County, California" compiled from public records by Henry Rueger, 1903, p.16. In the upper left you can see the Pico Oil Mine, the Menlo Oil Mine, and the Belmont Oil Mine claims for Pico Canyon. In the middle you can see the Temple Oil Mine and the Towsley Mine claims for Towsley Canyon. Near those claims are the Wiley Petroleum Mine claim and a Pacific Coast Oil Co claim in Wiley Canyon. Unfortunately, the atlas does not show any claims east of the San Fernando Pass for Elsmere or Whitney Canyons.
