Aerial Views of Lang

From above, it is difficult to identify Lang's Station. There were trees and bushes on both sides of the building and some of the tree branches covered the roof. Look at the older Lang Station photos from the ground and you can see the plant life on each side and over the station. You have to use the structures (water tanks, buildings) around the station in the ground level photos to help pinpoint where the station was. Today, there are no trees, no buildings, and only some bushes in the area. I have put a red circle around where I believe that station is when the photo was taken. From 1929 to 1951 and from 1969 to 2020, there were no good aerial photos taken of Lang.

1959. The new Nike base is now partially visible southeast of the station on the opposide of the tracks. From HistoricalAerials.com.

1968. This photo was taken between March 25 and May 1 of 1968. The station has not been removed yet. From UCSB's FrameFinders website. Photo ID tg-2445_7-130.

2025. Using some of the outlines of the long-gone Nike base to estimate the location. From Google maps website.

No date given, but recent with good quality. Red arrow marks the location of the 1957 monument to Lang Station. It used to be about 90 feet east of the station but was moved after the station was demolished in late 1968 or early 1969. From PLSS Map Viewer website.

This is a close-up of the previous PLSS map. At the lower left (in blue circle) is the old 1957 stone monument dedicated to Lang Station and the joining of the railroads in 1976. It is still has it's plaque and is still accessable today. About 920 feet away to the northeast, on the same side of the tracks, is the 1976 stone monument (in green circle), about where the 1957 monument used to be. This monument had two plaques, but they were relocated to the Canyon Country Vista Canyon Ranch Metrolink Station in 2023. About 90 feet to the northeast of this monument, was the site of Lang Station (in red circle).
