Answers of Defendants - Lopez filed April 14 and Rice filed April 26, 1864. Both answers are almost the same so they have been combined.
On March 15, 1864, the District Court dismissed the case, probably because the court didn't have jurisdiction in a land issue, although the actual reason is not revealed in the existing case documents. The Court also ordered that that case before the Commissioner (the Court Commissioner?). It appears that on March 15, 1866, the case was dismissed at the request of Plaintiff Pico.
